Fun Friday Metaphysics America's Got Talent All Performances

When Simon Cowell found out that he was judging himself. So these two gentlemen Tom and Chris walk out on to stage and during the questioning from the judges, it is revealed that they have created a company creating content, but incredibly they only met 2 days before their first performance on the talent show. Now to add to the mystery they bring on a previous singer Daniel and yes, ‘What have they put together? asked byTerry. On comes a huge camera.  We then find out what we later discover to be  ‘Hyper real’ . That ‘Wow' from Heidi is on point. Simon is in love and Howie what he says, exactly ‘Talent can be anything’ the perfect reaction from the judges. The second performance when Simon, Howie and Terry sing. I thought Terry’s knees were going to buckle and he would end up on the floor. I would have in his situation. This is so amusing to watch. The third performance, so now they have upped their game and Elvis is in the building. Simon is in shock and Heidi is so ex...

Wildcard Wednesday The Lake Of Dreams by Kim Edwards

This is already an intriguing start. Although this has a strong start/set up to this story, this is a slow paced book, coupled with the long chapters, which is one negative for me. This is, however, described and written really well. I don’t think this is going to be an easy book for me to read but I will persevere with it as I like the story so far. The part about the papers seems, to me, random and too quick. I feel that this part could have been written in a better way of finding them. The rest of the story is nice to read again so far, apart from the tragedy of losing her father and her mother’s accident that is. This story is well written, capturing the real essence of coming home from a long trip far away. Meeting up again with people from the past. I like this type of story. I have mixed feelings as to how I would like this story to work out. I like the idea of less responsibility but not returning to your roots as like going backwards in life. I like Lucy. I like how as t...

Fun Friday The Flat Share by Beth O'Leary

This situation as a ‘Flat share’ is very much a strange one. I have to ask, what happens in reference to days off, holidays, illnesses and the like? What an amusing yet realistic ‘Voice mail’. Also a realistic reaction yes, a female so yes, now to tell ‘Kay’, but I cannot see that being a problem but I am not Kay. it is still a weird set up though. Yes, Kay was listening. I don’t want to sound stereotypical but isn’t it the men that often get accused of not listening, and not the women. I don’t know why that part was even written as it could be deemed inadequately stereotypically unrealistic. The logistics of the ‘Flat share’ situation, although still weird, is really well written clearly enough that it cleverly works. This is an interesting book and I like it but I don’t like how the, she said, he said or I said aspect of the story using :. It doesn’t flow as it should. However, it doesn’t spoil the idea of the story so I was willing to overlook the terminology used. This book i...

Wildcard Wednesday Only Connect

I love this lighthearted quiz show. It is so nice to see teams of the general public taking part.  The idea for this quiz is a really clever one, where the contestants have to make connections with the clues they are given. My only 2 criticisms would be that the selection of question topics could be easier, as, myself included, I am not overly familiar with the symbols that are used. Also it would be nice if the words on the clues are read out by the host Victoria Coren Mitchell. I do however like that the teams do have 2 chances of winning an episode. A great quiz to play along with. Thank you for reading Sandra

Fun Friday Doctors, First Episode, Classic

When I very, first hear about a new TV program ‘Doctors’ and saw that Christopher Timothy was going to play one of the doctors, Doctor Brendan 'Mac’ McGuire. I thought it was a perfect role and transition from when he  played a vet James Herriot in All Creatures Great and Small. He plays both roles perfectly. It is good to see that they have bought Doctors back to our screens from the very beginning as a classic on the Drama Channel. You can tell this is old as all those files we can see. Also of course he will not be ok on his own. I feel the script has gone wrong somewhere. Although it is commonly known that the people who are closest to us don’t always see what others see. It is nice to see the patients coming first and as we see in the modern day Doctors with Doctor Jimmi Clay (Adrian Lewis Morgan) this does happily continue to be the case where possible. She now says ‘He can’t manage on his own’. This is a twist in the script from before Although a shaky first episode, ...

Wildcard Wednesday Scooby-Doo Haunted Hollywood, Lego

Well this certainly is Lego and this certainly is Scooby Doo, and that wasn’t a competition, ok, that was a good amusing link. Well, they have to be made somewhere and he is really building up the place, not, but this is funny and a fun pun. I think I have worked out who the ‘Monster’ is? There is always one critic. And I like horror movies. Oh, someone else could be the ‘Monster’. And another suspect arrives. This is certainly a mystery. Love the foam style. Despite the cliche ‘Screen time’ scenes this is ok good and sets up really well for the next scenes. Acting lessons?  I want to say that ‘The power has gone to his head’ but I believe he is trying to solve the mystery?  Yes, ‘The show must go on’. Yes, the ‘Kids are the greatest’ with another mystery debunked and solved. A great idea for a movie. Thank you for reading  Sandra

Fun Friday Ash by James Herbert

Part one It is a good strong start to this book, I personally find it amusing to read that Ash is unsure of doing the job. We all know he will take it as it would be a very short book if he didn’t. I am enjoying this book already. I love that Ash is a skeptic, as not every spooky place is haunted, or occurrence is paranormal. A skeptic that is willing to, as they say in the business, ‘Debunk’ in other words find other explanations for strange things happening makes for the best paranormal investigators. Yes, I am a skeptic but have had experiences I cannot explain other than that a place is haunted, but I will always go in first of all not believing until as I have on a few occasions been proved otherwise. The author certainly knows what he is writing about. I don’t want to put this book down.  The short chapters make the book an easy read. I love it already. However, I am not sure, as yet, to the point of chapter 6. I felt I had missed something as it jumped from one thing ...

Wildcard Wednesday How to sell a haunted house by Grady Hendrix

I like the informative, intense beginning to this story and I really feel for Louise. It is very real. A good strong start. Emotionally, this book is written in a very real way. I love the rawness of it. On top of this is also an intriguing story. And all I can say is, it seems, the dolls know what they want, the TV. i am spooked already, even from the mention of seeing the dolls on the walk through. This is a really good story but it does remind me of a very bad version of Toy Story with Tom Hanks. And all I can say is, I don’t like Mark, that is it for now. I thought that chapter 7 started with Louise having some sort of dream but it turned out to be perfect. I’m still not sure about Mark. i can see why she reacted as she did in the moment. I hope she isn’t rash although it is his life. This is overwhelming now. Well that was a sad twist. So now what? I have no idea where this story is going now, as the title says/implies ‘Selling a house’. This, I would believe, implies both w...

Fun Friday Schitt's Creek

The first series shown in  Uk, The first 13 episode First Episode, This does show, very quickly, that you shouldn’t take anything for granted. I would, on the face of it, love to live in a whole town. However, the estate where they moved from looks almost the size of a small town. Well, ok, at least it isn’t a ‘Ghost town’. Well I see that you shouldn't upset people and he should grow up. Second Episode, ‘A signature’ just a signature. This is so infuriatingly annoying. Although this is realistic the script doesn’t flow at the dinner party. I like the idea of fixing up the town. Third Episode, Oh dear, the ‘Sign’ the lesson on how ‘Credit cards’ work could have been a little more informative in that yes, ‘Get a job’ but, although obvious to pay off said credit card. This does show that he didn’t get who or what money was going to pay it off. 45 dollars an hour minimum wage wow! So funny. I do however, like that the mom got a job. She is actually doing a good job. I do like i...
