Wildcard Wednesday How to sell a haunted house by Grady Hendrix

I like the informative, intense beginning to this story and I really feel for Louise. It is very real. A good strong start.

Emotionally, this book is written in a very real way. I love the rawness of it. On top of this is also an intriguing story. And all I can say is, it seems, the dolls know what they want, the TV. i am spooked already, even from the mention of seeing the dolls on the walk through.

This is a really good story but it does remind me of a very bad version of Toy Story with Tom Hanks. And all I can say is, I don’t like Mark, that is it for now.

I thought that chapter 7 started with Louise having some sort of dream but it turned out to be perfect. I’m still not sure about Mark. i can see why she reacted as she did in the moment. I hope she isn’t rash although it is his life. This is overwhelming now.

Well that was a sad twist. So now what? I have no idea where this story is going now, as the title says/implies ‘Selling a house’. This, I would believe, implies both would sell it. Again, now what? I now see. It makes sense. I love it.

I still love this book. However, free or not now free of the house, Louise is now. I am still spooked as to what has happened to a puppet. I keep expecting it to appear, somewhere, anywhere different to where it was last seen. This is creepy. I also sadly, feel bad now for Poppy as well. However, much of a future you can have with money, they say that ‘Money can be the root of all evil’. This book is a good example of that.

I don’t want to put this book down now. Well that was honest and open. I do believe in ghosts but I will have to hear something in the house that couldn’t be reasonably explained before I personally would believe that the house is haunted.

You need a strong stomach to read chapter 19. Oh no no no no, this story gets worse but in a good well written way. The shock is really really bad.

I have mixed feelings now. It is great they are talking and hopefully going to get some help. However, I feel it is a bit of a cliche after all that talk/story telling of what happened. The ‘I need a drink’ like that is the go to for everything. Personally, I feel it to be an anticlimax situation, and I actually like the explanation given. It makes so much sense.

You have to have a good memory reading this book.

What a fantastic book, strange but good. I can see this book as a film as it is really well described for the images to be formed clearly in the/my mind.

Thank you for reading

Sandra
