Mum's Monday Toy Story 4

What a sad beginning to this film in more ways than one, on top of that is just what Woody (Voiced by Tom Hanks) needs a counting clock (Voiced by Alan Oppenheiner). What a clever script, not only wanting to name dust but one relevant name they came up with also. Now we meet Forky (Voiced by Tony Hale) this part is a bit repetitive but Forky does need a lot of looking after. Now Forky really needs a lesson in being a toy. Whether he likes it or not. Well, Woody may not be in charge anymore but he can still tell a great story and it is heartwarming to see Woody look after Forky in the way that he does. Oh those toys look and it turns out they are evil. Woody has got himself into an ‘Antique’ store situation. This is not nice to see, however, it is nice to see Buzz (Voiced by Tim Allen) try to be like Woody and attempt to listen to his ‘Inner voice’. Now what a lovely reunion. Well Bo Peep (Voiced by Annie Potts) has changed. Years of not being played with can do that it seems. Aga...

Fun Friday Toy Story 3

I like the newer, high tech play at the beginning of this film, but what I love most is when the car is sliced in half by the lazer. Sadly now the unavoidable has happened, Andy (Voiced by John Morris) has grown up. It is sad to see the toys prepare for their next chapter, including hearing about who they have lost along the way. Oh, no, that is not trash and that is one overweight dog. It is now annoying that the toys won’t listen to Woody (Voiced by Tom Hanks) perhaps they will listen to ‘Day Care’? And now where is Woody going? This is a confusing film. Well ‘Day Care’ doesn’t look fun. It is good to see the toys now wanting to move rooms. It is clever, yet, awful as to what happens after dark. Now it is a surprise as to who the bad guys are although I had a feeling about the ringleader. As you could call him. It is now lovely and clever as to how the toys find out that they have to get home. I am so glad that Woody is now on the case. Ok, that is a good piece of advice. They ...

Wildcard Wednesday Toy Story 2

I love the game at the start of this film Rex (Voiced by Wallace Shawn) makes a great spaceman, especially in the head wear which is amusing to see and cute also despite what Rex says about his limitations. It is good to see that Andy (Voiced by John Morris) is still into Cowboys, with a trip to ‘Cowboy camp’ with Woody (Voiced by Tom Hanks) coming up. It is however, sad and yes, annoying for Woody and for me watching that Woody has lost an important piece of clothing, as it is nowhere to be found so far. Oh no the TV has been accidentally turned on and an annoying advert is on. Now there is ‘Some good news and some bad news’ . It is lovely to see the interaction between Woody and the dog. They say that dogs are Man's best friend and it is Woody who has the way with the dog. Although this is heart warming and amusing to see, on the flip side it is sad to see that the dog doesn’t respond to Andy as it should in a normal family and pet dynamic situation. Sadly, 5 five minutes is to...

Mum's Monday Toy Story

I love Andy’s ( Voiced by John Morris) imagination and the way he utilizes the toys as in making a safe and the threats in a game of make believe ‘Stick up’. And of course Woody (Voiced by Tom Hanks) to the rescue and Mr Potato Head (Voiced by Don Rickles) is of the only obvious, when you see it, barred prison cell in the room, also known as the cot. ‘The Birthday party is today’ and now it is time for a ‘Staff meeting’. I love the ‘Quick draw’ on Etch a Sketch. Before the meeting can begin we have a, trying to be scary, Rex (Voiced by Wallace Shawn) dinosaur and Bo Peep (Voiced by Annie Potts) has romance on her mind. The meeting is brilliant, the items on the agenda are cleverly well thought out including the ‘Moving Buddy’ idea. However, the last item causes an adjournment and a ‘Code red’. It is brilliant how the toys organise themselves. It is sad to see a soldier get injured but great to see good soldiermanship. Oh, just when we thought all the presents were unwrapped, one...

Fun Friday Deadly Prescription

I cannot seem to find an IMDB page for this Channel 5 film so I am unable to put the actors/actresses names to the characters. Yes, ‘Presentations’ can be stressful. This highlights that Ivy relays what she does really easily but as in some cases people very rarely ‘Practice what they preach’ the vacation sounds fun/relaxing. Sadly, the reality is far from nice. The denial shows a realistic reaction to the diagnosis. It is great to hear some good news. And just what you want to happen. You bump into your Doctor in the supermarket with a trolley full of ‘Comfort food’. I am not sure about the experimental treatment. This sadly, highlights playing on the vulnerability. I can see the Doctor's side but it is dodgy and expensive but if it is to prolong your life as we see in this film you would mostly want to do anything to try to do that. I feel uneasy about it/this. I have realised that I have been focussed on Ivy but I should be more focussed on Doctor Mark. This is twisty and turn...

Wildcard Wednesday Under A Watchful Eye by Adam Nevill

I know you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but on this paperback version, published in 2017, I love the grey atmospheric colouring and the image of the house/mansion. This is what first appealed to me to pick up and read the back paragraph and then to read this book. If Seb is correct in who he thinks is watching him I have to ask that with the doubts that Seb has why doesn’t he ‘Google’ him. I did wonder if he had the means with his laptop but then remembered that he was going to ‘Google’ the ‘Doctor’, so yes, Seb has the means to find out what happened to this person. So far this is a really good book. At last, I like that it now mentions searching the web. It may be a long shot, but like I basically said it is worth doing. I like that Seb has someone to confide in, but sadly, this still leaves some unanswered questions. I was glad that someone else had seen what Seb was seeing, but I don’t like how it affected her. I also don’t like the idea that Seb will now be on his o...
