Fun Friday Lean Fall Stand by Jon McGregor

 This has a disturbing disorienting start. I love it. I am intrigued already.


This does highlight about staying close in a group in a dangerous situation.


I love the description of all the preparation for a trip to Antarctica.


This, although subtly goes into technical language, this is to be expected in the nature of the story and adds depth to it. I love the realism in this story.


I love the written camaraderie between the 3 of them, although I suppose with the place and situation they are in it is essential they do get on.


Although jumbled, it gets across that something is indeed wrong. This is a brilliantly written story.


This story is exceptionally well written again with the descriptions of what has happened. I love it, I don’t want to put this book down. This is cleverly written. 


What a confusing ending, however, I do think I know what was meant by it. It is brilliant overall. I loved this book and I love how the title was incorporated into this book.


I am going to miss the characters in this book.


Now to the reason I bought this book, one thing you should know is that I don’t like the cold and I don’t like snow. So originally dismissed this book. However it suddenly occurred to me that I actually had experienced the Antarctic without actually visiting there.


If you may like to do the same in a roundabout way this is how it happened to me. Now it seems everybody has heard of the stone statue heads on Easter Island but very few people have been or even know where the island is, including me, until watching a program on TV, we quickly found out that you could go on holiday to the island and that it was 2500 miles of the coast of Chile South America. 


We booked and went November 2023. We also booked an all day whole island tour on the internet. We had a private guide and private driver to ferry us around the island. It was getting to the end of the day and we found ourselves next to the large crater near the birdman village and this is where it turned colder. Our tour guide explains that the reason for the temperature drop is because the air is coming up from the Antarctic. So  you see I had to buy this book.

  I thought the same. So, where is she? If Lovejoy (Ian McShane) says ‘He will get one’ I suppose he will. I suppose, I would say, it depends on what you paid for a painting a nice ‘Fake’ at a fake price is fine, but if you pay a genuine price tag, then you could be out of pocket/at a loss. Fun Friday Love Knots Lovejoy

  It is nice to hear about the history of a collectible antique as we very rarely get to know where or why things are as they are. I really feel for Jane (Phyllis Logan) and it is sad that Alex (Pavel Douglas) is saying all the wrong things. Also I agree he should be around more for her to ask. That was good timing. I do feel for Jane it is horrible to watch. Just as Tinker (Dudley Sutton) was talking about travelling in his dreams . i thought of the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang where Grandpa Potts (Lionel Jeffries) did most of his travelling through daydreaming and all of sudden Tinker spots a character in the auction room called Potts (Tony Caunter). This is a completely surprising coincidence. Now we hear Tinker talk about the interesting messages left and things are getting heated in the auction room. Fun Friday Eric Of Arabia Lovejoy

  It is an eye opener and quite true, can something be classed as original when parts have been replaced due to wear and tear?. This part reminded me of the TV program Only Fools And Horses with David Jason. Where the character Trigger (Roger Lloyd Pack) was going to get an award for having the same broom whilst working. This would have been fine if he hadn’t revealed that the broom had had so many new heads and so many new handles. Lovejoy’s (Ian McShane) take on this is not quite so amusing but works for the episode. This bike business is now getting amusingly action packed and cringingly dubbed. What a find.
