Wildcard Wednesday Bridge Of Lies
This game show is a clever idea, contestants have 5 minutes to cross a Bridge finding a route of truths avoiding all 10 of the lies, the statements and words that are not true.
Ross Kemp is the host. He is good but he does keep repeating what the contestants are ‘Looking for’ and it does get a bit annoying.
There are so many helpful hints:
2 safety zones where if stepped on, the clock is stopped and a random lie is revealed and
The ‘Panic Button’ which is in the waiting room with the other members of the team of 4. If the player on the bridge looks to be running the risk of stepping on a lie and halving the money they have accumulated on their round, the button can be pressed therefore safeguarding the money. This can backfire if pressed too soon or not at all. There is only one chance to use it in the entire show and not at all when the last of the 4 players is on the bridge and no one is in the waiting room.
In the first 3 rounds each correct answer is worth £100 each but the last round is worth £200 each right answer. This is very generous.
It has been mentioned, to me, that if the contestants get across the bridge without stepping on a lie, they should get a bonus. I have only seen it happen twice as of February 2023.
The last round, the help and generosity continues. If any of the 4 players didn’t make it across the bridge then 1 can be bought back but the accumulated prize fund will be halved. Or if all 4 players made it across the team can sell a player and double the prize fund.
This is a good game show but it is harder than it looks.
Thank you for reading
