EastEnders Barbara Windsor has played Peggy Mitchell 1994 to 2016


Peggy Mitchell wife to the late Eric Mitchell, sister to Sal, mother to Grant, Phil and Samantha. Grandmother to Courtney, Ben, Louise and Michelle fowlers son Mark fathered by Grant before she left for America and then Michelle saying she met someone on the plane whom she pretended was Marks father.


Phil was in hospital in walks Barbara Windsor playing his mum Peggy to give him her usual talking to, from then on we see her become landlady of the Queen Vic with her well known phrase ‘GET OUT OF MY PUB’.

We see her marry Frank Butcher and then we see her reaction when she finds out Frank was having an affair with Pat Evans. Despite this Peggy and Pat become friends as time goes on.

Peggy then marries Archie her brother in law who is controlling and manipulates her and then he is killed by Stacy Slater after Stacy was attacked by him.

Some other memorable scenes are when Peggy and Pat find themselves in an ice cream van and they get drunk. Phil is not happy at having to break up the party for 2 and when Pat and Peggy have a falling out after they had given each other a slap around the face and ‘you bitch’ you cow’ are said we hear ding dong as the doorbell rings.

Peggy finds out she has breast cancer and after an operation to remove her breasts and treatment she pulls through and moves abroad.

Now Peggy is back and so is the cancer she has come home to pass. Some of the family don’t know and some do and object to Peggy refusing any more treatment other than the pain relief tablets.

Peggy Mitchell last episode was aired Tuesday 17th may 2016 where she got to say goodbye to family including Grant who came back from the Algave and friends and also to pass on her blessings to the new landlady of the queen vic Linda Carter.

Throughout this episode Peggy hears a voice, smells smoke and sees her friend Pat who has come back from beyond after another ‘you bitch ‘. ‘you cow’ we see Peggy taking her pills and………..…… she has gone………

Fun Friday Love Knots Lovejoy

  It is nice to hear about the history of a collectible antique as we very rarely get to know where or why things are as they are. I really feel for Jane (Phyllis Logan) and it is sad that Alex (Pavel Douglas) is saying all the wrong things. Also I agree he should be around more for her to ask. That was good timing. I do feel for Jane it is horrible to watch. Just as Tinker (Dudley Sutton) was talking about travelling in his dreams . i thought of the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang where Grandpa Potts (Lionel Jeffries) did most of his travelling through daydreaming and all of sudden Tinker spots a character in the auction room called Potts (Tony Caunter). This is a completely surprising coincidence. Now we hear Tinker talk about the interesting messages left and things are getting heated in the auction room. Fun Friday Eric Of Arabia Lovejoy

  It is an eye opener and quite true, can something be classed as original when parts have been replaced due to wear and tear?. This part reminded me of the TV program Only Fools And Horses with David Jason. Where the character Trigger (Roger Lloyd Pack) was going to get an award for having the same broom whilst working. This would have been fine if he hadn’t revealed that the broom had had so many new heads and so many new handles. Lovejoy’s (Ian McShane) take on this is not quite so amusing but works for the episode. This bike business is now getting amusingly action packed and cringingly dubbed. What a find.
