Mum's Monday Howards' Way

 Warning Spoilers

These serieses start off sensible enough for a family of 2 point 4 children. However to give this program an in depth storyline there is the affair and subsequent split. I do like Tom (Maurice Colbourne) and Avril (Susan Gilmore) together, they just work.

I don’t like Ken (Stephen Yardley). He is brilliantly described by Tom and I agree and can see it in him.

I can see the reasoning behind Lynn (Tracey Childs) making the crossing, but I do have to question 1. Her buildup/preparation was lacking when you consider the supplies she would need and 2. What was shown in New York and on the journey home against the buildup to and the supplies that were not shown.

Now the series seems to have changed, during the episode where they launch the boat ‘Lynnette’ with who is who’s father. It seems to have lost some of it’s sensible feel good nature. There were also holes in the script. Before Jack (Glyn Owen) and Kate (Dulcie Gray) were getting along and now they don’t seem to be with no explanation, unless I missed something.

This has gone from really good and sensible to sadly, ridiculous with who is with who, I don’t actually like Polly (Patricia Shakesby), which is a disappointment in what could have been an entirely feel good program. Most programs get better over their time, this does the exact opposite and ruins your lasting impression of it.

Thank you for reading
