Mum''s Monday Top Gun Maverick

For the Top Gun Maverick Premiere I caught the 12.20pm train to Liverpool Street London, got the Central Line to Holborn Station then the Piccadilly Line to Leicester Square. I followed the signs to exit the station at the right one and arrived at Leicester Square at around 2.20pm and stood by the barriers and Red carpet. Be aware the security team cannot give out any information as to where people/stars will be.


There was a screen showing the main event and just before 7pm I saw Tom Cruise on the stairs down to the Odeon Cinema that was showing the film.


My advice would be, and I intend to do this if/when I get a chance next time to attend a premiere, to walk around the area to see if I could get closer to the event. However, I did see a good few stars on the Red carpet. So overall it was a good day. Be prepared to stand, as I did, for about 5 hours.


This film came out in the cinemas on Wednesday 25th May 2022 and I saw it on Saturday 28th May 2022.


The original Top Gun (1986) includes Maverick (Tom Cruise) meeting an instructor who flew with his late father. Now in Top Gun Maverick, Goose’s (Anthony Edwards) Son, (A little boy in Top Gun played by Adam Weis in 1986 uncredited) now all grown up as Lt Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw (Miles Teller) meets Maverick who flew with his late father Goose.


This is a lovely chronological order and I can also imagine a Top Gun style film showing when Maverick’s father gets killed and then Top Gun is the sequel to that tragedy. So this makes Top Gun Maverick a perfect lovely sequel idea. And WOW! What a film there are some really funny and amusing parts, some sad and tragic parts and some edge of your seat last minute parts. What a brilliant reason to bring Maverick back. Really so well worth seeing. Overall the perfect script, cast and also perfectly acted out.

  I thought the same. So, where is she? If Lovejoy (Ian McShane) says ‘He will get one’ I suppose he will. Fun Friday Love Knots Lovejoy

  It is nice to hear about the history of a collectible antique as we very rarely get to know where or why things are as they are. I really feel for Jane (Phyllis Logan) and it is sad that Alex (Pavel Douglas) is saying all the wrong things. Also I agree he should be around more for her to ask. That was good timing. I do feel for Jane it is horrible to watch. Just as Tinker (Dudley Sutton) was talking about travelling in his dreams . i thought of the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang where Grandpa Potts (Lionel Jeffries) did most of his travelling through daydreaming and all of sudden Tinker spots a character in the auction room called Potts (Tony Caunter). This is a completely surprising coincidence. Now we hear Tinker talk about the interesting messages left and things are getting heated in the auction room. Fun Friday Eric Of Arabia Lovejoy

  It is an eye opener and quite true, can something be classed as original when parts have been replaced due to wear and tear?. This part reminded me of the TV program Only Fools And Horses with David Jason. Where the character Trigger (Roger Lloyd Pack) was going to get an award for having the same broom whilst working. This would have been fine if he hadn’t revealed that the broom had had so many new heads and so many new handles. Lovejoy’s (Ian McShane) take on this is not quite so amusing but works for the episode. This bike business is now getting amusingly action packed and cringingly dubbed. What a find.
