Mum''s Monday Nomadland
This film intrigued me so much that I bought the DVD without having seen the film. I absolutely love the line in this film ‘I’m not homeless I’m just houseless’ it is so simple but means a whole lot. A brilliant, inspired and meaningful sentence.
This film has a slow start but it is a strong one. All of a sudden this film quickly switches to a warmer climate.
There is not a whole lot to this film, it is more the meaning behind the script. If you are expecting action packed it is not. This is a good quiet film. The part although to me has a feel of a cult. It most certainly isn’t. It is just people that have fallen on hard times and with a mobile home are making the best of the freedom it gives them. I do like this film
I love how it does show not only the reality of living the way they do but the practicalities as well.
There are a lot of holes in the script as it jumps from one scene to another.
however much freedom you have there are some things you just have to be prepared for and sadly it is a harsh lesson.
Despite the sad beginning the story is a lovely one with all the things she has seen.
I love how they all help one another. How they all ‘Muck in together’ as they say. Also slowly but surely her story is being revealed more and more. It is nice to see them laughing.
The scenery is lovely to see.
This film is brave. Sometimes you have to just break loose.
Sadly, again this film shows the pitfalls of the nomadic lifestyle. This is a sad film and having seen this film the nomadic lifestyle is not for me, despite there being a lot of learning and good advice in this film.
Sometimes the way of life we lead is just in our blood/makeup. This is what this film shows us. Whatever we do or go.
Overall I am glad I got and see this film.
Thank you for reading
