Wildcard Wednesday Juno
This film initially wouldn’t have been my go to/first choice of film, however, when faced with a few hours on a transatlantic flight a few years back, this seemed a good recognisable option. Over the years however, this is the only film, until recently, from many flights that has stuck in my mind to the extent that when I had the opportunity to buy it. I did just that.
It is really easy to get absorbed into this film. I do have to say that ‘Those shorts are way too short’. And what a bombshell, it is really well acted, you can actually see in his face that his whole world has changed in an instant also ‘Running’ that is now all forgotten.
This film is really good with Juno (Elliot Page) being a very no nonsense and practical young lady. It really shows in depth what being young and pregnant is like and the stages of pregnancy. I do like the parents' reaction, well I didn’t like them laughing about the father.
First it looked like Juno, despite getting pregnant, was very grown up and responsible, however, meeting the couple with their lawyer you quickly realise she is, yes, just a high school kid. This is well done.
I don’t like the disapproving look and also the attitude of the ‘Ultra scan technician’ they could have stayed neutral.
You can see Juno really grow and develop in this film in more ways than one. I like the idea of a ‘Baby shower’.
It was a lovely moment at the mall.
I like how Juno gets on with Mark (Jason Bateman) yet, it feels so wrong. Now another unexpected bombshell. Mark should grow up. This would explain the conversation/connection between them. I now hate Mark, yes, he can have his opinion but it affects a lot of people. It is sad to see Juno all alone.
Now I am so glad they have reconnected. It now quickly turns into all systems go, a baby. They do make a great couple. I am so glad it all worked out. What a lovely ending.
All, just as I remember it.
Thank you for reading
Sandra
