Wildcard Wednesday Aladdin

‘Disney’s 31st animated classic’ 1992.

It is a strong but/yet strange start to this film. The plot becomes apparent very quickly and it is a good one.

It is nice to begin with that Jasmine (Voiced by Linda Larkin) shows some power, revealing who she actually is, it is a pity that it was overruled.

Ok, we get the message as to why we just touch the Lamp and none of the other treasure. I like the true Disney norm/form ‘Magic carpet’, I want to say character because it almost is. I hate that he is being duped, although, I do now like that it isn’t to late, but this part is a bit over the top, however, this is meant for children and the majority would love all the, what I can only describe as ‘Pomp and ceremony’, in keeping with the plot of this film. I agree, tell the ‘Truth’ and yes, be ‘Yourself’.

‘A Whole New World’ (by Alan Menken and Tim Rice) This song alone is worth it, buying and seeing this film, amazing and yes, ‘Magical’. Yes, the truth and that’s not it. Well the truth is out a little, I personally believe overly dramatic, but hey, it gets the job done.

A beautiful film overall.

On a recent trip to New York we managed to book a ticket to see Aladdin at the New Amsterdam theatre on Broadway on Saturday the 5th February 2022 at 8pm.

This show, I don’t know about A Whole New World but this show is a whole new level of excellent show. The special effects, how they operated the stage were all amazing. Well worth seeing if you are planning a trip to New York and have the time.

To see this show check on the ticket information or the website as to what is required for a Covid safe entry.

Thank you for reading
