Fun Friday The Good Life Xmas Silly, But It's Fun

So it is Christmas time in the Good’s self sufficient household. I love the Christmas ‘Vultures’ with resourceful red breasts. And I love that the animals are getting Christmas as well. It is so funny with the holly, mistletoe and the enormous, top snapped off, Christmas tree. I also love the Yule Log and the cute big robin with it’s too many wrong heads.

Well Margo (Penelope Keith) is having trouble with Bill (David Battley) the Tradesman ‘8 foot 5 and ¾ inches’ is sadly not ‘9 foot’. I don’t like that Margo is so picky and has an extremely high unreasonable expectation of customer satisfaction. And I don’t agree as Christmas is not supposed to come in a ‘Van’. I love what Bill said about Barbara’s (Felicity Kendal) eyes though. I can see why Jerry (Paul Eddington) would want a nice simple Christmas.

Now over at the Good’s Tom (Richard Briers) has made none ‘Bang’ crackers. I however, don’t like Tom listing all the things they haven’t got, as he should see and list what he does have. It is also amusing the undertone that Barbara knew Tom was Santa.

It is Christmas day, and a handy case of made up ‘Chicken pox’ could be salvation and give Jerry the Christmas he wants. I love the idea of ‘Each other’ but, one problem is that there is no food and the rest.

I love the generosity of the Goods, it is so heart-warming to see. I do wish Margo would get into the Christmas spirit. I know by the nature of her character that she finds it difficult but it handled well overall with a ‘Crack’ that will have to do for now. And now Margo doesn’t want to wear a tabloid newspaper. Now everyone can be silly, as Margo doesn’t want to go home. How could Barbara cheat at the balloon game, this is funny. I love Margo’s speech highlighting the true spirit of Christmas. I do agree that what the presents the Goods gave Margo and Jerry is ‘Perfect’ for the right occasion.

I don’t want to put a dampener on or give it away, the present that Margo and Jerry gave the Goods, I just question the gender of it?

This is, I agree, from what we see and hear, the ‘Best Christmas’ ever. Silly, fun with friends. I love this silly, lovely, and fun down to earth episode.

Thank you for reading
