Fun Friday My Stepfather's secret

Bailey (Paris Smith) is back from college and so much has changed. Bailey’s reaction to her mother’s quick life changing event is well done. The flashbacks, seeing ghosts is an unexpected surprise depth to the film.

I am not sure about Hugo (Eddie McClintock) although we shouldn’t be by the nature of this film. Things are not meant to be right; it is just intriguing to find what is wrong.

Who dumped who? If he didn’t want to go to college he has every right to make his own life choices/change his mind.

This film highlights that when you drive someone else’s car you could be mistaken for the person who owns the car. I like how Bailey is very astute, but sadly, no one else sees it, maybe one is on her side. This is good to see.

Now Bailey’s mum is married, I really don’t like her attitude. I also don’t like that Hugo got involved as well. This film is getting sinister and strange.

Oh, this is a clever set up, yes, teenagers are well known for sometimes being difficult and there is also a well known scenario where a single parent has a boy/girl friend or in this case gets married, the child ‘Used to having all the one parent’s attention gets jealous/acts up’ which is now being played out/called out by Bailey’s mum to cover for Bailey’s suspicions.

They are really going for it. People not just teens are well known to sometimes be obsessed with their phones, so again this stereotypical attitude is being used. It is good to make this film work, but I still don’t like that Bailey is suffering.

I like how on the run I felt on the ‘Edge of my seat’ and Hugo said all the right things about fitness, although he shouldn't have mentioned Bailey’s father. After all that the plot now thickens with the car showing up.

I know Bailey and her ex have issues but it is lovely to see that they let bygones be bygones and he helps her.

I know there is a secret. One, I thought amusingly that Hugo was using mind altering drugs on Bailey’s mum, I have now ruled that out/dismissed that idea, and two, which was actually my first thought had something to do with Bailey’s father, but as I am one, not sure and two don’t want to give too much away at the moment or at all. I will watch and see if my instinct was right or wrong. I thought I would mention my part theory as I didn’t want to get to the end and people would think that I didn’t guess anything at all. It is fun to try and work out scenarios whilst watching this film.

How did he miss her? Maybe it was the case or just a ruse. The camera angles could just be so that she actually was hidden from view but it didn’t look like that on the screen that she was.

Oh, I am going to go back to one of my theories , maybe not. I also like how Bailey is getting

to know Hugo although Hugo doesn’t know a lot.

I feel sorry for Bailey’s mum and for Bailey again Bailey is very astute. I don’t like what her mum said about Bailey’s dad, but with all the situation factors it is hard for Bailey to be believed.

I like how the 3 kids have joined forces and that they are onto something. What a clever/great idea with the phone. Now I don’t like what Hugo has done to Bailey’s mum. This however, is not going to stop Bailey. I was right Hugo did do it.

Well they say that money is the root of all evil but in this case it is Bailey’s future, what a heart-warming ending.

Thank you for reading

Sandra
