Wildcard Wednesday Death And Venice Part One Lovejoy

A, ‘Ring’ I take that it is bad It is not nice to see the attack. If he knew his stuff then he would certainly know that Lovejoy (Ian McShane) wasn’t involved. It is nice to hear that Lovejoy has a wealth of knowledge but sadly, there is no monetary value to what he knows. It is annoying to see Lovejoy joke around, I don’t see why they had to put all that in the script. Lovejoy may have his opinions but this, it seems, has been overly written.  Venice looks lovely. The scenes they manage to capture look colourfully picture postcard nice. I don’t want to sound sentimental but 1. I hope that book is about Venetian antiques and 2. If it is, it is, I feel, the perfect type of souvenir for Lovejoy to get as a reminder of his time in Venice. I love the thought Oh no.  Thank you for reading Sandra

Fun Friday The March Of Time Lovejoy

Yes, I would like to know how Lovejoy (Ian McShane) got away with it? Oh, Lovejoy, what have you found? ‘Magic’ it seems. I love it. Tinker Dill (Dudley Sutton) leave drink? I doubt it. This is amusing yet deluded to hear. I, at first, failed to see the point of them being pulled over, but now it is clever how it all fits together. I love how Lovejoy looks out for people, he is a very caring man. I do agree with Lovejoy and I feel he is guilty of something else as well. I knew it. I didn’t know that though. I love it, that is the best option, well not the ‘Child’ part. Watching the auction is painful. I don’t like it so far. Yes, the picture. What a wonderful outcome in more ways than one. Thank you for reading Sandra

Wildcard Wednesday The Real Thing Lovejoy

One ‘Spiral’ favour deserves another ‘Norwich’ favour. I want to say ’Thank goodness there is another one’ and Lovejoy (Ian McShane) saw it so he could put a stop to it. What is Lovejoy up to? Poor Charlie (Malcolm Tierney) it is amusing to see though. I feel as though the story of the paintings has been lost in the story of the new antiques business. I feel as though both stories fell a bit flat in the end. It is sad to see all Lady Jane Felsham (Phyllis Logan) 'creativity go to waste though. It would have looked nice if the pictures were anything to go by. Thank you for reading Sandra

Fun Friday To Sleep No More Lovejoy

So in Lovejoy there is more to ‘Cricket’ than first meets the eye. I love that it is explained that a ‘Forger’ and a ‘Copyist’ are 2 different things and copyist are very much respected. Also I knew he wasn’t all he seemed. A little obvious but still very good. Having personally known of possible snow in Switzerland during the summer. The thought of snow in summer in Scotland is not too far-fetched. However, Scotland is a long way from Switzerland. Oh, very clever, if you can’t beat them join them. Oh, that is so funny, someone ought to have told him that you need 4 wheels on a getaway vehicle. What a clever and lovely way the title makes sense. A car chase over Antiques. It seems the antique business is more action packed than I realised. Very clever. The list goes on. What an ending. Thank you for reading Sandra

Wildcard Wednesday The Judas Pair Lovejoy

An intriguing start, if possible, deadly start. Yes, it’s Lovejoy (Ian McShane), so yes, he should have seen ‘Trouble Coming’. Oh well. I can see all sorts of reasons that Lovejoy doesn’t like ‘Computers’. Although a mostly outdated opinion nowadays in 2023, they have proven to be beyond useful. It is good to see Eric (Chris Jury) realise that jobs can be both ‘Boring’ as well as exciting. An useful life lesson to learn. And why does he have to have his music so loud? He is young I suppose. Yes, what a relief. Although I don’t condone criminal activity. Under the awful or what could have been worse circumstances, it is good and I am pleased that Lovejoy is cooperating with the police, as well as much to be civil anyway, but it is still ok. It is amusing to see hands of the sweets. Even though he did buy them. Well it is a plan. Ok, a ‘Crossbow’ is silent. This is clever. Yes, luckily ‘Fire’ can be seen. Oh very very clever didn’t see that coming, however, neither did the shooter(...

Fun Friday Friends, Romans and Enemies Lovejoy

Oh, my, a gun. Who on earth has Lovejoy (Ian McShane) upset so much? ‘Rent’. Tell him how it is. This is a bit cliche in that, explaining all that is going on in some scenes. Money talks, another, sadly, life lesson. It is sad though that Eric (Chris Jury) isn’t a happy pupil in one way or another. Despite this the lessons keep coming. It is somewhat intriguing, his name spread about and found after his death. This episode does get you thinking, true or not. It is interesting to hear about the Romans. This is a very clever episode. I love it and of course ‘Rainy day’. Thank you for reading  Sandra

Wildcard Wednesday The Sting Lovejoy

I must admit, if it is true and it sounds plausible, but I didn’t know an actual dealer couldn’t be an Auctioneer at an auction. You learn something new everyday. I can now see why ‘Damage’ ‘Credibility’. Yes, this is amusing to hear. I don’t like the precarious place he put the cheque. It put me on edge watchin it. It is nice to see Lovejoy (Ian McShane) being nice to, even though she was the, intruder. At least he is honest about some things. ‘Blackmail’ included. It is so amusing to hear the double meaning phrase and it was the exact truth. Oh, yes, all sorted. Not necessarily ‘Ancient’ but cheekily amusing to see. If you would like to visit some locations that were used in this episode there is Bury St Edmunds where you have to be careful when you get there as there are very limited long stay car parking spaces so if you are unlucky enough to just find a short stay, depending on the time you get there you may only have time for shopping or lunch and may not time for both. The...

Fun Friday The Axeman Cometh Lovejoy

An intriguing start, someone is after Lovejoy (Ian McShane). I like what he says whilst breaking the fourth wall. It is, however, a shame that people are unaware of what they potentially have. You could say, this could be a lesson for buyers and sellers. Sneaky. I wish I spoke more French. He was ‘Right’ I agree ‘It is beautiful’. That is very true and precise of him, but it is supposed to be lucky. I don’t know who to be more scared of? Oh, I love it, Tax and Axeman rhyme. And to be fair they are not lying on both accounts. What a puff of smoke that was oh wow. Oh well, easy come easy go. Thank you for reading Sandra

Wildcard Wednesday The Firefly Cage Lovejoy

Yes, ‘Disappointing’. A son of a butcher turning vegetarian, oh dear. I wouldn’t say this was planned but what springs to mind is the phrase ‘A bull in a china shop’ or in this case some cows in the yard, not the ‘House’. With what was glass. I like that Loejoy (Ian McShane) breaks the fourth wall. What he says makes a strong start. Yes, we got to know all the characters. Well, the motorbike got his attention, but I bet he wished it hadn’t. Boring, no, strange, yes. You could really learn something of the Antique trade, yes, you still have to receive proper knowledge but what is said is a good start. I love all the good advice. I don’t like how this episode takes a sad and tragic turn. What a find. A bit over the top. Keep it in the family. This is amusing to hear. Nicely played. If you would like to visit 1 of the locations used in this episode as Felsham Hall, the home of the character  Lady Jane Felsham, played by Phyllis Logan. This is actually Belchamp Hall in Suffolk. ...
