Mum's Monday I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk

I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk When Angela Clark went to her friend’s wedding little did she know her life would change forever. In I Heart New York she catches her fiancĂ©, Mark, cheating on her at the wedding. So armed with just the clothes she took away with her for the weekend, the bridesmaid dress she was wearing on the day and her passport, I have always questioned why she took her passport to a wedding, although there is an explanation in the story and yes, we should always be identity security safe, but the reason seems a bit sketchy. However, it did enable Angela to escape the wedding and fly to New York. With half the money in a joint account she set up with her fiancĂ©, she booked a hotel room and purchased other essentials she required. At the hotel she met Jenny who quickly became a very good friend and helped her get an interview at Look Magazine. Angela relayed the story of how she came to be in New York and when it came to being asked if she had a Visa to work...

fun Friday Friends Who Kill

AKA A Daughter’s Ordeal Sadly, this film highlights that a ‘Divorce’ can affect many different things, including the children’s school work. It also highlights that you can know someone too long and what can seem like a good friendship has its issues and when someone fresh, new and on your same wavelength comes along, it does look like a better option to take. I do feel bad for her but as she hasn’t been through it, sometimes you just need someone who understands the situation. Although I would hate to see a break up. Oh, that was creepy and intense. This is a clever film in that Cassie (Alexa Rose Steele) is a very clever character. The build up to the point of this film is a long but strong one. I think I know what is happening however, I am not sure where one of the titles fits. It is probably why they changed it to the one above. Oh, no poor Harper (Reha Sandill). Like I said, clever as it is also clever how working on the newspaper and being a ‘Fixer friend’ is all interweav...

Wildcard Wednesday A Will to Kill Hailey Dean Mystery

It is easy to get absorbed into this film and it is a long while before we find out about the beginning of this film. This does, rightfully so, keep you watching. You have to concentrate on this film as it is easy to miss something like how it went from an investigation into Will’s death to trying to find a long lost friend. It does quickly become clear what the link is, if like me, you do/may have missed it the first time round. I know that they are checking it out but I think I know what happened and who it was. It takes time of course it will, it would be a very quick film if it was an instant result. Oh, just one line, sadly, it wipes out my theory, for now anyway. Other suspects are seemingly being lined up/highlighted, but I am not sure if they come under the category of ‘Least expected’. Ok, so I think I now know where she is? And again another suspect. The information given is intriguing in some ways. There are too many loose ends to explore. Why is it I feel the origina...

Mum's Monday Perfect Murderer Perfect Husband

You can call me cynical, but by the nature of this film it highlights that things are not as perfect as they always seem. That can also be for real life as well. Well that was an unexpected tragedy. I am now not sure as to what direction this film is taking/going in. What a shock, 6 figures. I hate the sense of insecure dread I feel as she could lose the house. I hate that she went from safe and happy to sad and vulnerable. It gets worse. Then better, but what is happening? I hope she is ok. Yes, ‘Thank God’. I hate that she is being spoken to like she is a little kid. Yes, she is young but not as young as he is making out she is. ‘Better answers’ that is horrible to hear as she can only tell the truth. It seems that is not enough in this case. This highlights that you should be careful who you marry. Also, no, don't go with him. I hate that she didn’t listen or believe her mother. I love that she is doing something so clever, dangerous, risky but clever all the same. Is she in i...

Fun Friday My Husband's Deadly Past

It is easy to get absorbed into this film. It is sad they couldn’t save her. I like the idea of televising real life, you could say ‘The gritty truth’. So now it is sad that as said ‘The show is gone’. It is nice to see them get on though. ‘Puppies?’ I don’t think so. Despite no show it is nice to see that some things are bigger than a show. I knew it, well I have a hunch, something was off, he seemed too perfect. Now poor her. If what I think is happening is happening this is a very clever film. I hate that the police will not follow more than the one lead they just assume. This is so annoying to watch. Oh, that was a bold statement. It just goes to show the obvious seriousness of recent events against a ‘Phone booth’. Sadly my hunch is becoming more plausible. I don’t know where the title of this film fits. You have got to be joking, really! He is now staying. I don’t trust him. He is too clever. I hate this police officer. Well that was ridiculously out of the blue/unexpected....

Wildcard Wednesday Hayley Dean Mystery A Marriage Made For Murder

That is good advice for buying a home. I thought that was ‘Love and war’ but what was said works just as well. Well that makes sense, no file, no certificate. There are a lot of motives that are stacking up all over the place. Oh, that is not nice to see, not the fact that he was cremated, the fact of what we see after that scene. I want to say that ‘that was obvious’, so what now? The good advice keeps coming, ‘Tell one story’ I like the idea. It sounds brilliant, also there is nothing wrong with ‘Speed dating’. Yes, he is guilty of one crime but I don’t think he is guilty of anything else. It is nice to hear that they are not just about the piece, it can be a whole lot of back story, emotion or feeling. Why was that piece of evidence overlooked and thrown away? Why don’t people realise that every small bit could help? I love that it isn’t all about the fancy food. And don’t play hard to get. This is amusing to watch. That seemed like a leading question. I don’t know if I belie...

Mum's Monday The Incredibles

In the interviews at the start of this film they might have a point, I agree with what they said. This is worth listening to when you first put this film on. It seems crime fighting never ends and just what Mr Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) wants a hanger on ‘Fan’. The ejector seat was a surprise, but I realise I should have guessed. Shame that it only worked for the short term. What is the world coming to? Suing someone for saving their life, the result now the heroes are in hiding. You can hide but you cannot hide the kids in school, or the dad when he is annoyed with the car. This is amusing to watch but the kid does annoy me also. It is sad to see that insurance is such a messy profession with holes in the walls and airy offices and now a hospital visit thrown in. Now things have just got ‘Super hero’ again, sorry all work conferences and the apparent ‘Middle age spread’ scenes are small but amusing to see. Is the robot defeated? Not quite. Now that's what I would call an ‘Insi...

Fun Friday Fatherly Obsession

From a shocking discovery to a comedy show. This film is certainly covering all angles. I can see where this is going. It is nice to see ‘Fitbits’ (By James Park and Eric Friedman) work. Yes, use the stairs where possible. I know why the previous tenant left? An exciting new home. I like the cat, so cute, I think, whoa. Oh, that is creepy in more ways than one. You have to look in the background. I hate that everyone seems to be on their phones. Now that definitely crossed a line. Oh no, you could say ‘History is repeating itself’. I thought the other resident would react badly as to what happened before. This is getting more and more sinister. Well that is the wrong way to use technology. Oh no, not the cat. Also what an awful secret. This is not nice to watch. I want to say that there is a lesson for parents in this film, regarding relationships, but bringing up children is/can be a tricky task. This sadly highlights using real life in a comedy set can be a bad thing to do. I k...
